Daal Baati Choorma

"Daal baati and choorma" is one of the best thing about Rajasthan. Daal baati choorma is famous traditional rajasthani food. people of rajasthan love these dishes. At rajasthani occasions daal baati choorma is special dish to be serve. Rajasthani food is incomplete without daal baati choorma. It is served in all the celebrations and festivals of rajasthan.

Three different food items daal baati and choorma combine to give "daal baati choorma".

Daal is made of lentils,baati is made of wheat flour and the sweet choorma is made of wheat flour, dry fruits,sugar and ghee. ghee is used in all the three items.
daal baati is also popular in uttar pradesh and madhya pradesh.

Daal recipe-

Daal is basically prepared by tuvaar daal,moth daal,urad daal,mung daal,chanaa daal.
All these pulses are cooked together after being soaked in water for few hours. first of all a small amount of vegetable oil is heated in frying pan and then jeera-raai added to into the oil and then paste of green chilli, ginger and spices including hing, haldi, ginger, red chilli are added and boiled daal is added into this and cooked.
  
Baati recipe-

Baati is made of wheat flour(aata). baati is hard bread and looks like ball. Little bit salt,water,curd and wheat flour mixed together and this mixture is used to make baati.
Small sized ball of this mixture baked on tandoor or traditional heated oven and when baati becomes brown then it dipped into ghee and served hot. Baati is always eaten with daal, hence daal baati.
  
Choorma recipe-

Choorma is a sweet dish. Choorma is made of wheat flour. Ghee, water and wheat flour mixed together and after then from this mixture roti’s are made. these roti’s cooked on traditional chulha or tandoor. then grinded mixture of these roti’s prepared for choorma. In this mixture sugar, ghee and dry fruits like cardamom, cashew, pistachio, almonds and raisins are added to make it tastier and healthier. Choorma also made by baajara. Different types and different flavoured choorma are available. Some people made rose or orange flavored choorma to make it tastier. Ghee put on all these three items when served. All these three items eaten together, hence daal baati choorma.
